Thymio is a small robot that helps you explore the universe of robotics and learn the programming language. You can program Thymio and carry out endless experiments.
With Thymio, regardless of your age, you can easily learn the basics of robotics and programming. Alone, with your friends, or with your parents, program Thymio to become the hero of your adventures!
The Thymio is fully open-source, both hardware and software. Thanks to its compact size and lightweight design, Thymio is easy to use anywhere. Its sleek white body makes it very robust, and its LEDs and buttons make it highly attractive.
Programming options
Visual programming (VPL) - from 6 years and older.
Blockly: Designed by Google. Drag & drop programming module - from 9 years and older
Text programming (Aseba Studio): Writing your own code language and programming - from 12 years and older
Thymio's behavior codes
Thymio can interact with its environment in various ways. Thanks to 6 color codes, you can make the robot perform different behavior patterns:
Friendly (Green) - Thymio II follows the object in front of it.
Explorer (Yellow) - Thymio II explores its surroundings, avoiding obstacles.
Fearful (Red) - Thymio II detects shocks and falls and shows the direction of gravity.
Investigator (Cyan) - Thymio II follows a path (line following).
Obedient (Purple) - Thymio II follows the instructions from the buttons on its body or a remote control.
Attentive (Blue) - Thymio II responds to sounds, and it can be controlled by clapping.
1x clap = drive straight / turn
2x clap = run / stop
3x clap = spin in a circle
